Before the hustle and bustle of the day begins, the Mafiri Children Home lies peacefully in the first light of day. The sky is coloured in soft shades of orange and pink and the sun slowly rises above the horizon. A soothing silence hangs in the air, interrupted only by the gentle chirping of birds. It is as if nature itself is savouring this moment. Everything is quiet – until the first children wake up. Then it becomes loud and colourful again when cheerful laughter and lively voices break through the quiet of the morning and the Mafiri Children Home comes to life.
