During our visit in March to the Mafiri Children Home we had good conversations and are happy that Tamara and Lucas have decided to move their lives to Tanzania. Both have been in roles within Children’s Homes intermittently since 2021. Tamara will take over the management of childcare and general issues from July. Lucas is taking care of the infrastructure, such as the further expansion of the power supply, as well as monitoring and supporting local companies in the construction of the new groups of houses.

During our stay, our friend Father Magnus visited us with some sisters. The exchange with “Father” Magnus is always interesting. He has lived in Tanzania since 1981 and, with 60 sisters, cares for orphans and girls fleeing oppressed situations in Arusha and the surrounding area.
This year the rainy season came early in March and made the area around the Mafiri Children’s Home green. The plants in our garden are also doing well and we have an abundant harvest.
